Start from Ready to assign
The number at the top is real money sitting in your accounts without a job yet. The goal each month: bring it to zero.
Assign by category
Use Assign money (or type straight into the Assigned column). Rent gets its amount, groceries theirs. Copy from last month gets you 90% there in one click.
Spend, and watch Available
Each purchase drains its category's Available. Green means fine; red means that envelope is empty (not that you are broke).
Move money when life disagrees
Overspent Coffee? Move the difference over from another category. That is not failure, that is the method working: the plan follows reality.
Set goals for the lumpy stuff
Insurance due in January? A goal spreads it across the months, so December-you thanks September-you.
